One of opera's emerging young singing actors, Lawrence Craig is earning a reputation for his "solid, accurate baritone" (New York Times) and attracting attention in Europe and the Americas on the opera stage, concert hall, and recital as an artist of "virtuosic talent" (Zurich Tages Anzeiger). A graduate of the young artist program of the Florida Grand Opera, Mr. Craig appeared with that company in a number of roles, most notably that of Ford in Falstaff. Elsewhere, he has performed Papageno in Die Zauberflote, Sharpless in Madame Butterfly, Guglielmo in Cosi fan Tutte, and the Harlequin in Ariadne auf Naxos. He has appeared in a number of contemporary American operas, including Argento's Postcard from Morocco, Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti, Anthony Davis' X, Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, Kirk Mechem's John Brown, Virgil Thomson's Four Saints in Three Acts, Tania Leon's The Scourge of Hyacinths, Noa Ain's The Outcast, and Roberto Sierra's new opera for the Broadway theater, Terra Incognita. This past spring, he appeared in the Latvian National Opera's Jubileum Celebration, and Spoleto Festival's American premiere of Kurt Weill's Die Burgschaft (recorded for Musical Heritage Society).

Recent appearances on the concert stage include the Cincinnati Pops as Walker in Gershwin's Blue Monday and excerpts from Porgy and Bess as Sportin' Life (recorded for Telarc International), Austrian Broadcasting Corporation singing "Old Man River" for the motion picture Musik am Mississippi, Kainuu International Jazz Festival for Sarmanto's new song cycle, North Country Suite, Chicago Sinfonietta for a European tour of Porgy and Bess, New Jersey Symphony for their centennial celebration concert of the music of William Grant Still. He has also appeared as a soloist in oratorio with the Vancouver Symphony, Houston Symphony, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, El Paso Symphony, Chautauqua Symphony, Santiago Chile, Mansfield Symphony, Bogotá Colombia, Dayton Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony, Mendoza Argentina, Milwaukee Symphony, and the "George Enescu" Bucharest Philharmonic.
